What Causes Pain In Back Radiating Towards Upper Back?
Hi. Since a few days, I am suffering from pain in my neck and upper back. When I stretch my neck to the sides, it makes some noise as if breaking of fingers. I am a teacher by profession and I wear helmet while driving to my workplace. Any suggestion you can give?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in back radiating towards upper back. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like trapezius trigger point , muscle spasm , disc problem or working in same posture for long time . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to back several times a day , take proper rest , change your posture after after every few minutest while working and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon if condition doesn't get better . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or x-ray . Doctor may recommend particular stretching exercises , physical therapy , muscle relaxant or anti inflammatory .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
