Could Lupus Patient Have Survived PE That Resulted From DVT?
My wife passed away in Turks and Caicos in March of 2011. She had Lupus was sedentary and came off a long flight. The Dr at the hospital diagnosed her with an infection in her lower leg. She died of a PE which resulted from a DVT.The Doctor and the hospital acknowledge that they erred but say because she died 22 hours after entering the hospital that she had no chance to survive even if the correct diagnosis had been made. What do you think?
hi i am sorry to hear of your loss but it is a known fact that pulmonary embolism is difficult to diagnose and is usually diagnosed late
of course with other comorbidities, it might have been a diificult case to treat however without having seen the clinical status it is difficult to state the exact prognosis
but overall i feel it would have been difficult again, i am sorry for your loss best of luck
