Hi,
It is highly unlikely that high blood pressure medication and heartburn medication would cause a positive result for methamphetamine on a drug test. However, some over-the-counter cold and allergy medications can produce a false positive result for methamphetamine. These medications typically contain pseudoephedrine, ephedrine, or phenylephrine, which can cause a positive result for amphetamines on a drug test.
However, Zantac (ranitidine) which is used for heartburn, is not known to produce a false positive result for methamphetamine. It is possible that the positive result was caused by another substance or could be due to an error in the drug test. If you are concerned about the accuracy of your drug test results, you should speak with your probation officer and ask for a retest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Medicines for high BP won't result in false positive result but sometimes medicines like ranitidine used for GERD may result in false positive result for meth.
