Could Momentary Ringing In A Deaf Ear Indicate Return Of Hearing?

I have been deaf in my right ear for as long as I can remember, I still function in life perfectly fine and normally. Since recent middle ear surgery 2 months ago I have a loud ringing sometimes in my right ear and just once I actually felt like I might have been hearing again which was amazing considering I haven t heard from that ear since being a child but it has only happened once and only momentarily. Is this my hearing possibly returning? And if not is there any possible way to have my hearing restored without the use of cochlear implants or bone hearing devices?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have momentary ringing in a deaf ear . Well there can be many reasons for ringing in ear like infection in ear , change in local or overall blood pressure , caused as a side effects of medicine and hearing loss . I would suggest you to ENT specialist again for proper examination . Doctor may order Ct scan , examine with otoscope , check vitals and order complete blood test . Doctor may treat according to diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory and may consider surgery . . Doctor may also prescribe supplement like ginkgo biloba .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
