Could Multiple Follicle Ruptures Post Fertility Treatment Indicate Multiple Pregnancies?
Hi, I have taken fertility treatement and was given an injection called decapeptyl for the follicle to rupture on my 13th day. After that on my 15th day my right ovary measured two 18mm follicle and left ovary showed 2 ruptured follicle in the follicle study performed. Now am afraid wheather my right ovary follicle will also rupture and is there any chance of multiple pregnancy for me.
Fertility treatments can increase the chance of multiple pregnancies. But your treating doctor will discuss the progress of pregnancy and options available to you for further management. Only when ovarian hyper-stimulation (more than 20 follicles) occurs,it is dangerous. Your cycle may be cancelled in such cases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
