Could Multiple Sclerosis Cause Balancing Problem And Severe Vertigo?

I am 67 years. I am unable to walk on my own and Some Body s help is needed. Apart from this balancing problem, vertigo. If I try to put forward few steps, I fell down many times. Currently I am using R-cinex 600 before breakfast and Benadon after breakfast for the last 4 months on Doctor s advice. Some one told me this is because of MS(multiple sclerosis). Advice me how to get rid of these.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Balancing problem with severe vertigo indicates involvement of vestibular apparatus in inner ear. This can be due to damaged nerve supply or inner ear infection. An expert examination and investigations would confirm the cause followed by cause specific treatment. Please consult an ENT specialist. Till then, rest nourishing light diet, plenty of water and over the counter pill of Diziron can be taken for some relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
