Hi, for 3 years now Ive been experiencing bowel issues it first started with constipation out of the blue it cleared up for a day and then continued and never stopped since then but as time passed ive also experience blood in the toilet which I believe is from hemorrhoids because of the off and on constipation and I ve also been experiencing longer gas and more smellier than usual and an increase of mucus in my stool sometimes the colors are different either from yellow orange white and brown not all at the same time but separately I also take longer to make a bowel movement accompanied with pushing and straining now I I m not sure if this is colon cancer or some other bowel condition I don t know about I was 18 when all of this started to happened well when the constipation started but all the other things follow throughout the years I m now 20 but I would like to know are these signs of colon cancer or something else .

Hi,

Definitely your symptoms may be caused by hemorrhoids as well as by any other pathology of the colon or rectum also. There may be polyps, benign or malignant growth, inflammatory as well as some infective pathology.

Hence, in your case, you are advised to see your doctor for the proper diagnosis and treatment accordingly. If required you may be asked also for sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy for proper visualization and also, for a biopsy of any suspicious lesion, if indicated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
