Could My Lower Back Pain, Sharp Anal Pain, And Tender Abdomen Be Related?

Hi, I’ve have lower back pain over the last few weeks mainly around the bottom of my spine area and over the last few days I’ve been getting a sudden sharp pain in my anus, and when I press my fingers into my abdomen area, about 4 inches under my belly button it feels very tender and sore? Just wondered if this could be all related?

Hello,

Pain and tenderness below the belly button are commonly due to UTI, appendicitis, ovarian cysts in females, constipation, IBS, etc. Get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done along with required blood tests & imaging tests & get clinically examined by a GP, to detect underlying cause that is giving you pain and discomfort. Avoid constipation, take laxatives at bedtime & keep yourself well hydrated. Take water & fluids. Take fiber in your regular diet.

Avoid taking oily, spicy food as it may trigger your symptoms. Take antacids or PPIs, one stat when needed to prevent symptoms of bloating, abdominal discomfort and pain. The pain that you are experiencing in your anus area is indicative of stress. Avoid stressing yourself. Do not stand for a prolonged period of time as muscles are getting tensed & hence you are getting symptoms of Proctalgia Fugax and getting sudden, severe pain due to muscle spasms in the anal sphincter.

To relax the muscles, rest on bed for some time. Take warm bath after you feel better. Take naproxen, one stat after food to get rid of pain & help anal sphincter relax. Do stretch exercises and walking as much as you can do comfortably.Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
