Could Narrowing Of Disc Be The Cause For Pain And Burning Sensation In Thigh?

I just received on-line a report by a radiologist on a recent X-ray. It says that i have severe narrowing of the L2-3 disc space. Can this be the cause of my recent pain, burning sensation, tingling, etc., in the front of my right thigh, presumably from the femoral nerve?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear patient,

yes the L2/3 nerve radiates down to the upper thigh ("dermatomes"). So the spinal nerve nerve between your L2/3 back bones is most likely affected by a slipped or degenerated disc. You should see an orthopedic doctor to evaluate what kind of therapy is best for you. The therapeutic range goes from physical therapy, pain medication, local injections to operation (last option). Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
