General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history of having nausea, after eating mostly, mouth has extra saliva, need to burp, gagging sensation and sometimes bad taste in mouth. This has been going on for weeks, wants to know whether this is acid reflux. Take Prevacid.

All the symptoms that you have pointed to, may be due to the following reasons:

GERD or reflux as you have mentioned. Hiatus Hernia. Distal obstruction in an upper intestinal path. This can be diagnosed by: Clinical evaluation and examination preferably by a General Surgeon. Investigations like upper GI Endoscopy. Barium swallow and follow-through. Tests of blood, stool and urine. All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant
