Could Neuropathy In Hands And Legs Be Related To Vitamin D Deficiency?
I waa diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency a year ago. I found this as rather odd, as i had just returned from 3 months in Baja, Mexico with an average of more than 3 hours per day in the sun. Over the past few months I have had symptoms of neuropathy in my hands and feet develop. Could there be a link between the two? I ve been checked for diabetis and have had an MRI, all of which have been unremarkable. Thank you for your time
I don't think this can be vitamin D deficiency and you should test vitamin D levels in order to be sure. According to your explanation of being exposed to sun for long it can't be vitamin D deficiency. The neuropathy may be related to vitamin B 12 deficiency or elevated glucose levels.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
