Could Night Sweats While Being On Lamictal Be Hormonal?
i am 40 yr old female who has been having night sweats for about 6mths. My hormone levels r "normal." I started armour thyroid about a yr ago and had the dose increased recntly. I take lamictal for bipolar, pristique for depression. Have had problems w/ weight my whole life. Recently went through battle w/ throat cancer. what should i do next as i believe most of this is hormonal
Hi dear user I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Night sweating can be a side effect of lamictal and of pristiq treatement. Each of them can cause this symptom. At the other side excessive sweating can be due to hyperthyroidism.
My advice is to repeat the thyroid tests TSH,freeT3 and freeT4 and to consult an endocrinologist near you for the necessary dose adjustment of armour therapy. If you have taken too much armour this can result in iatrogen hyperthyroidism and can explain your night sweating.
If your second thyroid tests results normal, this means that the thyroid gland is not the culpit of your night sweaating and you should talk with your psychiatrist to give another drugs for your problems.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. Thank you for using HCM. Wish you good health.
