Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Nodule On Thyroid Gland Be The Cause For Pain And Swelling In Neck?
I have been having pain in my left collarbone for the past few months. Two months ago significant swelling occurred in the same location. I went to have an x-ray done to make sure I didn t break my collarbone (I didn t) so my doctor sent me for a cat scan. They found a 2cm complex nodule on the right thyroid. They then sent me to for a thyroid ultrasound to confirm what they found on the cat scan. Now I have to go for a biopsy. I am trying to find out if that 2cm nodule can be the explanation for the pain and swelling on the left side of my neck.
Thanks for your query,
since you have been diagnosed with thyroid nodule and its nature will be diagnosed after biosy , you should wait for further till biopsy report.
And nodule can cause swelling or pain nearby soft tissues , but it is not of much importance . you should take oral and local analgesics for this and wait for confirm diagnosis.
Have a nice day
