Could Nodules In The Spleen, Pancreas And Thyroid Be Somehow Related?
Since 2009 I had my spleen removed from (there was a 6.5 cm cyst on it), I had the tail of my pancreas removed (small cyst, that could have become cancerous). And just last week a quarter size nodule was found on my thyroid (waiting for results from sonogram and blood work). I am curious is there a condition that would make all of this appear that could all be related? I have a new primary care doctor who is looking into everything now, but before each issue has been treated separately. In the past all my blood work was always normal - my spleen was removed in 8/2009 and in 4/2010 when the tail of my pancreas was removed my spleen started growing back.
Pancreatic cysts are not related to a thyroid nodule. The nodules are very common in the general population, one in 2 persons has nodules in the thyroid gland, so there is no need to worry.
