Hello there, I can understand your concern about your mother's health. Hypoglycemia usually does not cause the symptoms you are describing. Especially it wont be a chronic problem. If at all it will occur for a few minutes and subside on eating something or so. Usual symptoms of hypoglycemia are sweating, tremors, palpitations, hunger, anxiety, giddiness, weakness of entire body. Although you say that there is no change in mentation she could still have weakness due to some cerebrovacsular accident and may need CT/ MRI of brain. Do discuss with your treating physician who can conduct a thorough exam and suggest the relevant imaging to find the cause of this progressive weakness. Hope this helps. Take care.
