Could Occasional Smoking Pot Cause Sudden Cold Sweat And Lack Of Response?
last night at dinner, my husband broke into a cold sweat and did not respond when I called out his name. I got up and sat next to him and called his name and asked if he was ok, as I was ready to call 911 he said faintly, "I'm ok....I took a hit of pot a few minutes ago and just feel really really stoned." He is 65, in incredible shape, of normal weight and eats very healthy. Is there any concern I should be aware of? He smokes pot maybe once or twice a month to relax.
First, the quality control of marijuana purchased illegally is quite poor and often includes other chemicals that can be dangerous. And, secondly, marijuana does have (mild) stimulant effects on the heart, often causing a (mild) increase in heart rate and can trigger panic sensations for a variety of reasons. Might not be relaxing.
