Could One Week Late Periods Result In Pregnancy Or Should I Wait?
Took Plan B 2 -3 Hrs after a condom breakage, and the very next week Had a very heavy period for 4-5 days. The next month had a lighter period that lasted only 3 days, and now going on about a week late for the 3rd period after Plan b. Am I pregnant - Have not had intercourse since the breakage incident.
According to your history the possibility of pregnancy is very less, as: - You got withdrawal bleeding after taking the emergency contraceptive pill. - You had one regular cycle after getting the withdrawal bleeding.
Irregular menstrual cycles can occur due to many causes. Emergency contraceptive pills can affect the menstrual cycle because of the high dose of hormones in them. Repeated intake can further aggravate the irregularity. If you want to be sure, please go for a urine pregnancy test to rule out the possibility of pregnancy.
If the test gives a negative result, you can wait and watch for one more week and possibly you make it your periods by that time. At least two months gap between two emergency contraceptive pills is advisable to prevent menstrual irregularity.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
