Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Pain In Arm Post A Fall Indicate Broken Bone?
Daughter fell at soccer and landed in her arm. It is not swollen or bruised but she said it hurts when in a straight position. Could it be broken it is it something I should have looked at? Of course it happens 2 days after our insurance ran out and the next insurance starts in June. (My husband switched jobs)
As the arm is not swollen or bruised, fracture might not have happened. May be muscle went into spasm because of undue force during fall. For pain, you can give analgesics like ibuprofen daily once for 5 days. If the pain doesn't come down or other symptoms like swelling appear, please do consult an orthopedic surgeon for clinical examination, X-ray and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
