Could Pain In Jaw Be Due To Nerve Pain?

My wife is suffering with jaw pain. She does not grind her teeth and TMJ does not seem to be the answer as she does not have the clicking or other symptoms described online or by her doctor. She thinks it is nerve pain and possibly from a dental problem. She has seen her dentist but no help. She plans on seeing another dentist next week. Any ideas? My name is Gary. email is YYYY@YYYY . Thank you.
