Could Pain In Neck Along With Stinging Urination Be Indicative Of UTI?

my husband is 65, and starting saturday afternoon started feeling flu like symptoms....achy all over, c/o his neck and shoulders hurt, a little headache, urine stings when he pees.......c/o trouble starting his stream.....he gets a psa yearly, and even has a urologist he checks in with once a year. could this all be a uti??

Hello, thanks for posting on HCM.
All the symptoms described by you can point towards presence of urinary tract infection. Fever, burning during urination and feeling of tiredness suggest it could be UTI.
Or it could be only flu with features of dehydration (which is seen in viral infection) and thus causes burning urination problem.
I would suggest you keep him well hydrated all the time with lots of fluids, water, soups and all. And he should be able to pass urine without burning sensation.
If with this also the burning does not come down, kindly get a urine examination done and watch for presence of pus cells or bacteria. If yes consult your doctor for the same as he may need antibiotics for the same.
