Could Pain In Rib Cage Area Be Treated By Taking Levothyroxine?

Hi I have had a pain just under my left ribcage for over a month , it hurts when I breathe in deeply but really hurts when I cough or sneeze. Sometimes the pain stops me sneezing. I am a nurse and tested my urine when I first got the pain and again today. It showed 3+ leucocytes. I am on levothyroxine 100mcg and paroxetine 20mg a day...any clues?

Hello,

The pain in ribcage can be due to low levels of calcium or D3. It is not likely to be related to thyroxine deficiency. You should not start with any such supplements without consulting your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
