Could Painful Sore On Nose Be Due To Stress?

I have a cold sore type sore in my nose that is painful and when I wipe the sore with a tissue there is an unpleasant smell on the mucus. This is a recurring problem that began about 2 years ago - can it be the result of ongoing stress?
I am female, aged 60. 5'7'', weight 159lb and please don't say I need to lose weight!

Cold sore in the nose is very rare.This can be a sort of a granuloma or a cancer.
You need to consult an ENT Surgeon get the biopsy and follow the treatment as per the reports.
Nothing to loose in loosing weight.
