Could Persistent Pain In Lower Abdomen Be A Symptom Of Stress?

Hello, i ve been under a lot of stress lately, i ve been dehydrated leading to urine discoloration, and ive also had a lot of other stress like symptoms such as chest and abdominal pain and spasms. I went to the doctor, they did a Urine and STI test but both came back negative. Over the past few days i ve been having a pain but only when pressed on, on my lower right side at the top of my hip bone and recently noticed a small brownish bruise. could this be a result of stress?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent pain in lower abdomen. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like constipation , diarrhea , gastroenteritis , acid reflux , kidney infection , stress or irritable bowel syndrome . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , stool test , endoscopy and take history to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , ornidazole , laxative , antacid or analgesic . Doctor may also refer you to psychiatrist for stress . For now do relaxing exercises like yoga and meditation , keep yourself hydrated and eat more fibrous food .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
