Could Pressure In Uterus Post Removal Of Fibroid Tumor Indicate Recurring Diverticulitis?

i am 60 years old and have a pressure in my uterus-i had this before and it was a fybroid tumor which i had removed-that was 5 years ago-i had an internal ultra sound a few days ago and the doctor said there were no masses at all and suggested that maybe it was my diverticulitis acting up so i did a round of my antibiotics but got no relief. i am so frustrated cause i am so uncomfortable and it also feels like something is staying open-he also said that my uterine wall was 5 and that normal was 3 abd he wanted to do a biopsy but that wasnt what was causing my pain

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pressure in uterus post removal of fibroid indicate various possibilities such as:
- Intestine colic
- Developing incisional hernia at operative site
- Urinary bladder calculus or cystitis
- Recurrent fibroid if uterus is still in situ
- Others

However, chances of diverticulitis do not sound any way by this much narration in the query. In my clinic, I do recommend an Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis for best evaluation of the underlying cause and guide in accordance to that only.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
