Could Puffiness In Eyes Along With Weight Gain Be The Withdrawal Symptoms Of Losartan?

I have gain 30 pounds, my tendons in my ankles are tight and hurt. My eye lids are puffy....no energy depressed. I stopped taking Losartan 7 days ago.... it s like night and day. I am SO wake and feel cheated that I have 30 pd s and eyelids that hang. Will things get better?

Hi,
Whatever the symptoms you have stated are may be due to water retention in body.
There might be following causes for that
1) Kidney dysfunction.
2) Heart failure.
3) Liver dysfunction.

I want to know-
1) Your age and gender,
2) Presence of diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol problem, heart disease.
3) Family history of heart disease or kidney problem.
4) Habits like smoking.
5) Current medicines if any.
6) Symptoms like breathing difficulties, decreased urine volume.

You should consult your doctor immediately and get done clinical examination.
Following investigations may be helpful in your treatment-
1) ECG, 2DEcho of heart.
2) Blood investigations like complete blood count, kidney and liver function test, serum electrolytes, calcium, phosphorus, BNP.
3) Arterial blood gas analysis.
4) Urine examination for infection, protein loss.
5) Ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis for liver and kidneys.
6) Chest Xray.

Patient may require
1) Intravenous antibiotics.
2) Diuretics.
3) Strict blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring.
4) And further decision need to be taken based on clinical examination and test reports.
