Could Pus Filled Blisters On Upper Abdomen Be Symptom Of Pemphigus?

I have a 69 y/o female resident (nursing home), presenting with intact blisters to upper abdomen, with yellowish color fluid. She has multiple co-morbidities,has been on very potent IV antibiotics (almost continuously),and has a chronic boil with MRSA to neck. Until the physician can assess her, is this the right situation for Pemphigus?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Pus filled blisters over upper abdomen can be related to multiple possibilities as:
- Bacterial infection with staph or others
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Infective dermatitis
- Low immunity states as HIV or others
- Manifestation of herpes vesicles
- Auto immune disorders as Pemphigus, Bullous or else which can be differentiated on basis of skin biopsy and particular antibodies in the blood

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
