Could Red And White Blotchy Spots On Upper Arms And Thighs Indicate Circulation Problem?

Hi, The back of my upper arms as well as my thighs are blotchy with red and white spots and it seems my veins are visibly red/pink too in those areas. I m wondering if this is a sign of poor circulation? Or am I just cold? I notice on warm days they disappear as well as when I m exercising and warmed up. Please advise. Thank you!

Hi,

I don't see these them as problems. It could be vasoconstriction (constriction of blood vessels) of blood vessels which causes whitish patches however the visibility of veins could be due to the paleness of skin which makes them more visible. Reddish or pink patches would be due to dilatation of blood vessels in those areas which do not need any attention. I would advise you to ignore them.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
