Could Redness And Itching Around The Injection Sites Be Due To Irbesartan?

I m having swelling in my feet and legs, I started a new medication almost two weeks ago. Irbesartan 75 mg I take half in the morning and half at night. Im on Nova Log and Levimir and I am having reaction on my injection sights swelling red and itching. I have had reaction in the past to the shots but not with swelling in legs and feet. Not sure if new med has anything to do with it. Controlling my Blood Pressure ok. Sugar is not doing good. been having to give extra shots with Nova Log last few days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Yes, probably an allergic reaction and so I would recommend against the use of irbesartan and to consult a doctor to find a safe substitute for the same.

Best wishes.
