Could Rupturing Of Ovarian Cysts Have Caused Adhesions Leading To Celiac's Disease? Is Gluten-free Diet Ideal?
My 16-yr-old granddaughter has had severe abdominal pain periodically over the past 2 years. Initially her dr said gastritis and prescribed Prilosec, It has steadily gotten worse. They had her on birth control shots for 6 months but she had a constant period. Her gastologist today said she might have a little ciliac's disease and recommended a gluten-free diet. Since she is allergic to wheat she has been gluten-free for a year or so. So the gastrologist said maybe it's severe celiac's and to get her own utensils, etc that won't come into contact with gluten. Any ideas what else it could be. She has a history of ovarian cysts rupturing, too. A doctor told them EVERYONE has ovarian cysts. Could her rupturing cysts have caused adhesions that are now causing her other problems?

Hi rupturing of ovarian cyst is unlikely to cause celiac s disease. Adhesions cause if there is endometriotic cyst. Please see a gynecologist for doing an ultrasound and knowing type of cyst. Regards
