Could Severe And Persistent Pain In Buttocks Be Symptom Of Ovarian Cancer?
I have had this pain in my left buttocks for about 6 years now. It comes and goes, but recently it seems to have spread across both butt cheeks and when I sit down it feels like something is in between my butt cheeks. I have had lower abdomen X-rays....hip X-rays and everything comes back clear. I did have an ultrasound done and the doctor found a small cyst on my left ovary and said putting me on birth control should fix that. I want a C125 test done or an MRI because I think it s ovarian cancer. My entire left side aches now.
Based on the history you have shared, it's a very atypical possibility for ovarian cancer to present like this, however for reassurance, CA 19-9 and CT scan pelvis may be done. It can also be muscular and physiotherapist review for any possibility of pelvic floor muscles spasms should be ruled out. Rarely piriformis syndrome etc can present like this and some maneuver by your diagnostician may be needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
