Could Severe Cough Before The Surgery Be A Matter Of Concern?
I have has a urti for 2 weeks. Last week i went to the doc. He gave me a zpac b/c i am supposed to have gallbladder surgery tomorrow. I called the surgeon s office and told them I still have a cough. They said they were going to go ahead with it and to talk to the anethesiologist tomorrow. I am going under general anethesia. Should I be concerned?
It depends if it is a concern or not. A doctor should listen to your lungs and also for an x-ray of lungs to see if you have bronchitis or pneumonia that may complicate the situation.
If the cough is an allergic dry cough it may not be a concern during surgery.
