Hi,

Hair thinning or hair loss is an often reported side effect of Isotretinoin. Hair loss once occurs it's only temporary, mild and also not result in any scarring. In most of the patients, normal growth is restored once after stopping the drug intake.

Isotretinoin is used in the treatment of acne. It works by suppressing the hormones in the pituitary glands. At the same time it shifts or affects the hormones which influence the hair growth causing thinning of hair or shedding.

I advise you to:
- Eat healthy fat diet + supplement with fish oil
- Get enough protein, vitamins, iron supplements
- Repeat thyroid function test every 6 months once

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
