Could Severe Itching On Scalp And Hands Be Due To Fungal Infection?
Ten year before I was suffering from fungal action on my left foot. Doctor advice me to take Sebifin tablets twice daily. It works and I get rid of this. During discussion he told me that it may extend to your head and in that case it would be very serious. Now I am feeling allergy on my head and skin itching increasing beyond tolerance sometime on head and skin and hands, specially when I use some hair dye like Garnier. What should I do. K C Bhatt
Hello Mr.K.C.Bhatt, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Itching of scalp and hands could be due to fungal infection. Itching of scalp could be due to allergic reaction of hair dye also. Hence try to avoid such hair dyes and use some other forms, which would be more comfortable. Sebifin is a anti-fungal drug containing 'terbinafine' and you can take it as prescribed. For scalp, kindly use Ketoconazole shampoo regularly with Selenium and Zinc containing shampoo once a week. Your symptom should subside gradually by taking these measures. Hope the information provided would be useful. All the best.
