Could Severe Pain And Stiffness In Back Be Due To Herniated Disk?

I bent over and suddenly my back did something and put me on the ground. Was unable to walk for about 14 or so hours. Had to crawl. 2 days later Im able to walk but still feeling pain and extreme tightenss to where its hard to move. Could this just be a simple back spasm or strain? Or could it be something worse like a slipped disk or herniated disk?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic!

According to your symptoms, you are having back spasm. To relieve symptoms you can have hot and cold bag massage for back and anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen.

If pain persist for than a week you should consult an orthopedic doctor. He would investigate you with X-rays and MRI if needed.

Thank you.

Regards,

Dr. Manan
