General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, severe groin pain post injury does indicates severe ligament or muscle sprain or strain.

* Osteophytes are not responsible for that severe pain as they are already existing before the onset of sequences of trauma.

Following measures would help you better way

- local application of heating pad
- assisted physiotherapy
- analgesic with diclofenac and acetaminophen
- avoid certain postural adaptation and weight lifting
- control of blood sugar and body weight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
