Could Severe Pain In Right Groin, Loose Stools With Blood And Mucus Indicate Colitis?

For over a month I've had severe pain in my right hand side groin. Very loose stools beginning with bright red blood with pus or mucus and recently black, tarry stools. The pain can be very severe at times. I can eat only a tiny bit at one time and it goes straight through me......(I've been diagnosed with a variety of "stomach issues" over the last 30 years...I'm 54 now and about 10 years ago had some polyps removed from my colon)........There is a history of all sorts of Stomach, Colon, Esophageal, sarcomas, and adenocarcinomas in my family history. I went to my doctor and he said he "thinks" I have a touch of Colitis........I'm in severe pain much of the time...............I'm afraid it's a cancer...does it sound likely?

Hi welcome to HC

I have gone thru your query and can understand your concern .

You need not to worry about the history of all sorts of Stomach, Colon,
Esophageal, sarcomas, and adenocarcinomas in your family history .
You are an individual and your life is influenced by your own way of life ,whether it is your life style or your food habits .

The most common culprits of pain & stool colour changes are foods and medications. Occasionally, a colour change is a signal of an underlying problem.

You may have an injury or disorder of your digestive tract. When stool is black, it is a sign that bleeding has occurred in the upper digestive tract. The digestive juices turn the blood the tarry colour. Bleeding could come from an ulcer or inflammation.
Stool may also appear black if you have eaten black licorice or blueberries, consumed lead, or taken iron pills or medicines containing bismuth.

Dark black or tarry-looking stool usually means that there is dried blood in your stool. . This colour is reason for concern, more so as you have been diagnosed with a variety of "stomach issues" over the last 30 years.
Meanwhile , For your info , in my view , according to Naturopathy and Ayurveda our health depends on ' what we eat ,how we eat and when we eat and regular exercise , yoga pranayam', which help in strengthening our immune system to remain free of diseases .
You take care of your diet , which should be light on stomach & easily digestible , veg soups , oats , juicy fruit , khichdi and semi liquid diet .Lemon juice in a glass of water with a pinch of salt & pepper is good antioxidant and energising and so is turmeric powder 1/2 spoon with a spoon of a mla juice ,

Increase your daily fiber intake to 25-30 grams a day. This can help prevent constipation, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, diverticulosis, IBS and even colon cancer.
as you know prevention is better than cure , Avoid excessive use of anti-inflammatory drugs for long periods of time. (e.g., aspirin, Ibuprofen) They irritate the stomach and cause ulcers.
Avoid stress
Practice yoga , pranayam, deep breathing , Kapalbhatti

Take Homeopathic Arnica 30 / thrice / 6 hourly

Arsnic 30 / thrice a day / 3 days
