Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Sharp Pain In Arms And Chest And Feeling Antsy Be Side Effects Of Adderall?
I have been off of my Adderall for almost a year due to pregnancy / breast feeding. I just started retaking my meds and am having sharply dull pains in my arm extending into my chest. I also feel antsy/ racing heart. I m not sure if this is because I started taking 25 mlg after such a long break or more.
Pain, an antsy feeling and a racing heart. Those symptoms are consistent with Adderall use. Anxiety can also cause those symptoms as well. The easy test to see if Adderall is the cause of your symptoms is to stop the medication for a few days or a week and see if the symptoms go away. Then resume the medication and see if it comes back. If your symptoms are from Adderall, there are alternatives may not have the same side effects. If your symptoms don't seem to be from Adderall, seeing a medical provider for an evaluation would be helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Timothy Wong, General & Family Physician
