Hi,
Cosome syrup contains
bromhexine,
chlorpheniramine and
phenylephrine which is used to treat
common cold symptoms. This medicine relieves allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, congestion or stuffiness. It also thins and loosens mucus and making it easier to cough out. Prolonged use of this medication or using for short duration, this syrup may cause serious type of allergic reactions such as itching, rashes, swelling of eyes, lips, tongue, throat, face, hands or feet, wheezing, breathing difficulties, dizziness,
hypotension, irregular heart rhythms etc.
If someone may experience such type of clinical features during using this medication, he or she should stop taking this medication first and consult the prescribing doctor promptly for medical attention. Even her other daily using medications like Covance, Torride, Tegretol and Stamlo etc., any of the them may cause such type of allergic reactions. Thus, inform her doctor about her present clinical status first.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician
