Could Small, Itchy, Red Spots On Torso And Thigh Be Discoid Eczema?
I am a married lady aged 68 and share a bed with my husband living in the country. We keep our bed immaculate. I have been experiencing small very itchy red spots - that first looked like insect bites - throughout January. My husband has been unaffected. Most of the 20 or so spots, which have been both front and back on my torso with a couple at the top of one thigh, have now faded but a dermatologist today said I may have discoid eczema, which I do not believe. Any other ideas and how to treat the spots would be a great help. Annette.
3) Scabies: itchy raised small lesions , itch more in night.
Treatment for all these conditions is different.
I will advice you to attach a pic of the lesions if possible so that i can help you further.
In the meantime, you can take antihistaminics like tab levocetrizine or allegra.
Thanx

Hello dear, Welcome to healthcaremagic. I have read your query and understood your concern. Such itchy red spots can be one of the following: 1) Tinea corporis: characterised by itchy ring like scaly lesions over body. 2) Eczema : Itchy red colored lesions over body. 3) Scabies: itchy raised small lesions , itch more in night. Treatment for all these conditions is different. I will advice you to attach a pic of the lesions if possible so that i can help you further. In the meantime, you can take antihistaminics like tab levocetrizine or allegra. Thanx
