Could Small Lump Under The Chin Be Related To Staph Infection?

I have impetigo on my chin and am currently taking antibiotics as prescribed. I noticed yesterday that there is a small lump under my chin right where the bone ends and soft area begins and it hurts to the touch. Is this a lymph node associated with my staph infection or could it be something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

The lump could be associated with the infection and I would suggest you monitor it over due course of time to see if it gradually reduces in size while you are on the antibiotics. I am sure you shall see that it is nothing that requires separate attention and is most probably just lymphadenitis that is due to the infection itself.

Best wishes.
