Could Small Spot On The Base Of Penis Post Unprotected Sex Indicate Herpes?
I recently visited a brothel in new zealand. I had sex with a prostitute during which the condom fell off and was quickly replaced. I also received anal from her using sex toys (strap on). To my knowledge this always had a condom on it. This occurred 5 days ago. I now have a small spot on the base of my penis. I think it may be an in growing hair but am concerned it may be herpes. My questions are as follows, Is this likely to be herpes? How long do I need to wait before I can get tested at a clinic? What tests do I need to complete? How high is the risks of my having a sti? Thankyou
As there was condom slipping, even though transient, there is chance of STD. But, usually genital herpes present as fluid filled vesicles or small ulcers rather than a spot. And we expect some burning or pain too. If no progression to vesicle or ulcer, no new lesions, and no symptoms like fever / burning / pain, we need not worry. When in doubt, we can confirm by testing the secretion.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
