Could Smoking Marijuana Cause Pain Or Inflammation At Hip Joint?

Hi, I have ankylosing spondylitis. I weigh 80kilograms, and my height is 5'8". I had an attack of AS and I had to take Infleximab injection. The pain subsided and a month later I had Marijuana for a week and had excrutiating pain in the same area as that of my AS (right hip joint area). I took indocap SR for close to 10 days, but since the last 2 days, there has been no pain and I haven't taken any pain killers. Is it possible that smoking Marijuana caused the pain or inflamation at the hip joint? Please advice

Hi,

This is not a common occurrence with marijuana. It is being evaluated as a pain helping drug. It might have allowed you to move more and more forcefully than you generally do and this could have hit something.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
