Could Sore Throat And Painful Swollen Neck Lymph Nodes Be HIV?
Hi, On friday night I had unprotected sex with a guy I met in spain for about 1-2 minutes. He did not finish and we were interrupted. I do not know if he has any STDs because I lost him in a crowd and was not able to find him. On monday I woke up with a sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in my neck and still have them today. The sore throat is only there in the morning and my lymph nodes are swollen but only hurt when pressed on. Is it likely that I could have contracted HIV and that these are the first "immediate" symptoms I read about online? How likely is it to get HIV while only having sex for that short amount of time?
You say, he did not finish in you; i understand he did not ejaculate in you. if that is the case and that he did not have any precum fluid, then the risk of you having HIV is close to zero but if his precum or sperm got into you, the risk of transmission is very high.
The sore throat you had cannot be due to HIV infection; not that soon. If you did some sucking, then you must have pick up some germs that caused the symptoms you are having. It could also be due to allergy.
Whatever the case, you will need to do HIV screening regularly in order to be certain in future of your status.
