Could Soreness Of Muscles Be A Side Effect Of Taking Crestor?

I too have suddenly stopped taking Crestor due to the doctor failing to renew my prescription and now waiting for the insurance company to approve the prescription. It has been 3 weeks now and I thought at first my tenderness and soreness was just nothing, however, it is not letting up. I never had any soreness of muscles, etc. or side effects when I was taking Crestor which has been about 3 years now.

CRESTOR (rosuvastatin calcium) is a synthetic lipidlowering agent and is indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet to reduce elevated Total-Cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol and triglycerides and to increase HDL-Cholesterol in adult patients with primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipidemia. The most common adverse reactions that led to treatment discontinuation were:
1. myalgia
2. abdominal pain
3. nausea

Rhabdomyolysis with myoglobinuria and acute renal failure and myopathy (including myositis) and Liver enzyme abnormalities are serious adverse reactions. You may be suffering from muscle tenderness which is common and in most cases it is self limiting. If in case it very troublesome to you, please consult your doctor he may titer the dosage and it may bring down the side effects. All the best
