Could Spotting, Cramps Be From The Miscarriage Or From Depo?

Hello Doctors,

I had a miscarrage 3 weeks ago, and wanted to get back on birth control. My doctor insisted I get the depo shot so I did 2 weeks ago. Now i am spotting and having cramps. Could this be from the miscarrage, or from the depo? Is this normal so soon after a miscarrage?
