Could Stabbing Pain In Hip Be Normal Post Replacement Surgery?

I had a hip replacement in January of 2014 and then I had a second surgery to remove the hardware that was initially put in because the hardware had been pushing on the bursae. I ve gone through Physical Therapy for 4 weeks and continue to do exercises at home. I still occasionally have that same stabbing pain in my hip and I am wondering if that is normal. When the first surgery was done the surgeon broke the bone and I also want to know if that is common??
