Could Stomach Flu Have Been Caused By Eating Chicken?
I have had the stomach flu since Sat. I believe it was from some chicken I ate at a friend s house. While the vomiting has stopped yesterday and the diarrhea seems to have subsided today after I took some immodium, I am getting chest pains. The pain is throughout my chest cavity and lasts for about 5 minutes. It feels like a labor contraction when I m dilated to a 4. I have had two of those in the past two hours. Then I just had a dull pain in my heart area. I am thinking all the chest pain is related to my reflux and my stomach struggling to digest. I have taken my reflux ranitidine and just took tums and pepto. I have had bread, banana, and gatorade today. Is there anything else you would recommend for the chest pain? Is there anything you would suggest I watch for?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Stomach flu is not caused by eating chicken. Flu is caused by a type of gastrointestinal tract virus. What you could be having symptoms could be caused due to indigestion and acute gastritis. Kindly take Tablet. Pantoprazole with Domperidone combination on empty stomach for 5 days. Eat bland diet for a week and slowly revert back to your normal diet. Improve your intake of fluids during this phase. Take probiotics for a week to ten days. Gradually, your symptoms should subside and you should feel better. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
