Could Strain And Hoarse In Voice, Presence Of Large White Growth Near My Tonsil A Symptom Of Cancer?
I am a 28 yr old female I have had a very hoarse and strained voice now for about 6 months to the point that by evening it is painful to speak. I visited the health clinic last week and they noticed on throat exam a large white growth near on or near my tonsil we know it is not a tonsil stone as it did not move and it is perfectly round and also has large dark red vein in it not sure if it has anything to do with my voice hoarseness or if it's something all on its own.I am very concerned and need to know if I should see an ent and what it could be and if it needs to be surgically removed or if it's cancerous. Thanks I will attach a photo
Welcome to HCM. White growth with red center usually indicates follicular tonsillitis. There might be spread of infection up to the vocal cord. You should go to ENT for examination of throat and vocal cord for proper diagnosis and medical management. Speech therapy is required to improve the voice quality.(exercise of vocal cord by typical words). Steam inhalation will be helpful.
