Could Suffering From Vertigo Also Result In Ear Pain?
a sudden vertgo attack whilst diving slight pain in ears and fullness that comes and goes. Vertigo lasted 3 days (i suffer with vertigo, but this was quite bad on my own scale) worried about flying in 4 days- 3hr flight, followed by 12hrs, folowed by 1 hr. I am in east Bali and cannot find a doctor near here listed.
I can understand your concern. Vertigo is unlikely to cause ear pain. However, middle ear infections also cause vertigo as a result of fluid movement in the ear. As you are also experiencing pain and fullness in the ear, it is more likely that you need treatment for ear infection.
I recommend that you should start with antibiotics. You can take Cefixime 200 mg (Topcef) twice a day for 5 days. You can take OTC painkiller such as Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg up to three times in a day to have relief in pain.
If you start the antibiotic course today, it is more likely that you will be able to fly in 4 days. However, if the pain is not controlled or vertigo keeps troubling, you should see an ENT specialist for the clinical examination and further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
