Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms
stomach discomfort after taking Mefenemic acid is due to side effect of the medicine and it is right decision to change it with other drugs..
But in case after taking
Naproxen you had a
swollen cheek and even fever it may be due to side effect of naproxen but what I find more appropriate is that if you have infected tooth also on right side that is causing pain then the most probable cause for swelling and fever is infection from the tooth and swelling is due to
dental abscess formation and fever is due to
Septicemia and as the infection enters the blood stream the body's immunity acts to limit the infection and there is increase in body temperature..
So I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case of infected tooth an x ray can be advised to you to rule out the exact condition of the tooth.
If tooth is in a condition to be saved he/she will advise you and get the
root canal treatment initiated so that the pus gets an escape way and swelling and pain will reduce.
If the tooth is grossly decayed extraction is the choice of treatment..
Both the treatments will be followed by antibiotics and painkillers...
As of now for pain relief you can avoid NSAID'S and take
narcotic pain killer like Tramadol.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
